I purchased my TomTom XL back in March or April 2011 and just today installed TomTom Home and tried to enter my activation code for Lifetime Maps. Before I entered the code I updated everything until there were no more updates. When I tried to enter the activation code I was told the code is still valid however, it is not working because my TomTom is not up-to-date. Well TomTom Home says it is. They will have you do a few tasks with the gps but they will finally just manually set your account up for lifetime map updates on your gps.
